Can’t Stop Us is from Meneese Wall’s new Pandemic Ponderings artwork series. Each image addresses our need for human connections during these challenging Coronavirus times. All are inspired by historical events, people, quotes, and memorabilia with a common link to our current situation.

During the 1918 flu pandemic, while ill with the Spanish Flu, Carrie Chapman Catt said, “These are sad times for the whole world, grown unexpectedly sadder by the sudden and sweeping epidemic of Influenza. This new affliction is bringing sorrow into many suffrage homes and is presenting a serious new obstacle in our referendum campaigns and in the Congressional and Senatorial campaigns.” 

When we view our lives through the lens of the past, we find solace and wisdom that better informs the present and insightfully maps the future.
