Description

How did you get excited about the King of Instruments? Who introduced you to the organ? Who helped you on your organ-playing journey? Who provided your first opportunity to play part or all of a worship service? What are your/your chapters questions, concerns, and goals regarding growing the next generation of organists?

This workshop will cover finding prospective organ students, matching students and literature, motivation, chapter scholarship program ideas, and other tools, strategies and resources. Leslie Wolf Robb has served as Director of Music Ministries for St. Pauls Lutheran Church and School in Pacific Beach (San Diego) since 1985. In addition to her work at St. Pauls, she teaches piano and organ to both children and adults. Many of her students have gone on to study music at the university level, and a number of them currently serve as church musicians and performers.

She has presented workshops on teaching young organists, developing scholarship programs, chapter development and leadership at the local, regional, and national levels for AGO. Her materials for organ instruction are published by Wayne Leupold Editions. Leslie currently serves as AGO National Secretary/Councillor for Communications.
