Description
Antique - H. Disston & Sons 10" Backsaw.
The icon on the handle indicates that it dates to 1896-1917
This historic backsaw was most likley used in making fine furniture of sorts. It has a stiffening rib on the edge opposite the cutting edge, enabling better control and more precise cutting than with other types of saws. Backsaws are normally used in woodworking for precise work, such as cutting dovetails, mitres, or tenons in cabinetry and joinery. It is a beautiful piece of history and a wonderful addition for any collector.
