Artist's Statement: The challenge of this painting was that the reference picture of Nisha was black and white. I had to reference multiple pictures of Nisha to be able to get her colors right. I decided on the blue monarch as her companion, as they are one of the rarest butterflies. Like leopards, they live in the depths of the tropical forests, are very shy and they too are endangered.

About the Artist: A little bit about me -- I am an artist, painting as a hobby. I use oil as a medium and enjoy painting wildlife subjects. I am an ardent supporter of Wildlife SOS and love to paint their magnificent rescued residents.
