Description

A bright student, Farheen studies at the Government Girls School in Rajasthan. She loves playing outdoor games like badminton, football and even cricket with her friends. She also loves singing and dancing with her friends. Farheen’s favourite subject is Science, she wants to inspire more children with science by becoming a teacher when she’s older. Her love for the subject is unmatched as she is a keen observer and loves to ask questions. She even likes to recreate scientific experiments at home, teaching her siblings the same. Her father, a vegetable seller, managed to keep the family together with assistance from Wildlife SOS who provided food regularly.

The COVID19 lockdown has been difficult for her family to fare through but the Kalandar community has received livelihood support during the pandemic. The Kalandar community was once involved in the barbaric practice of dancing bears for sustenance and survival. Wildlife SOS has worked extensively to eradicate the practice of dancing bears from the country. Additionally, these rescued bears have been rehabilitated at our rescue centers spread across the country. We have also provided sustainable alternative livelihoods to the Kalandar community. Your support could help Farheen become a teacher one day.
