Bubbling with energy, Rihana is only  8 years old and studies in the 3rd grade at Lucent Children Academy in Rajasthan. Always eager  to go to school, Rihana hasn’t been able to attend school as they remained closed as a precautionary measure due to the COVID19 pandemic. Her parents are both tailors and sustaining during the lockdown for the entire family has been challenging. Wildlife SOS has provided the Kalandar community with livelihood support during these tough times. 

The Kalandar community was once involved in the barbaric practice of dancing bears for sustenance and survival. Wildlife SOS has worked extensively to eradicate the practice of dancing bears from the country. Additionally, these rescued bears have been rehabilitated at our rescue centers spread across the country. We have also provided sustainable alternative livelihoods to the Kalandar community. Your contribution could lead to a bigger role in helping Rihana accomplish her goals of becoming a Police officer.
