Description

An ever-intrigued child, Alfaaj is only 10 years old but his aspirations are beyond his years. He wishes to join the Indian Army when he grows up as he has always wanted to serve his nation, and works very hard to achieve his dreams. His teachers are all praises for his docile and hardworking nature. His favourite hobbies are playing outdoors games such as cricket, badminton and running track. He is one of the fastest runners in his entire school! Alfaaj’s favourite subject is Hindi  but he hasn’t been able to attend school since the pandemic closed them down but he continues to practice his lessons at home and remain in touch with his teachers.

The COVID19 lockdown has been difficult for his family to fare through. The Kalandar community was once involved in the barbaric practice of dancing bears for sustenance and survival. Wildlife SOS has worked extensively to eradicate the practice of dancing bears from the country. Additionally, these rescued bears have been rehabilitated at our rescue centers spread across the country. We have also provided sustainable alternative livelihoods to the Kalandar community. Helping Alfaaj get a step closer to his dreams could lead to a bigger role, and we request you to extend your support to him.
