Description
Irshad is a hardworking student who at the tender age of 11 years has big dreams for himself. He attends 6th grade at S.D.D Academy, Uttar Pradesh. He is one of the 7 siblings to his parents, and the siblings share a heartwarming bond with each other. Each evening, after school, they love playing cricket and that easily explains why he is a fantastic cricket and kabaddi player. Irshad loves going to school to study his favourite subjects, English and Hindi. He understands the importance of service to his country, which has led him to set his heart on protecting lives as a police officer.
The COVID19 lockdown has been difficult for his family to fare through but the Kalandar community has received livelihood support during the pandemic. The Kalandar community was once involved in the barbaric practice of dancing bears for sustenance and survival. Wildlife SOS has worked extensively to eradicate the practice of dancing bears from the country. Additionally, these rescued bears have been rehabilitated at our rescue centers spread across the country. We have also provided sustainable alternative livelihoods to the Kalandar community. Your support could help Irshad become a police officer one day.
