Almost 7 years into his healing journey, Raju is a completely reformed elephant than what he was when he arrived at the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre, in Mathura. Raju was weak, wounded and traumatized due to his painful past and needed care and treatment to heal. With the help of our elephant care staff and veterinary team, Raju steadily regained his physical and mental strength and reconnected with his true self in his new home. We witness a different side to Raju as he splashes around in the pool, for hours at a stretch, filling a trunkful of water and throwing it all around him! Add to this excitement, his favourite tyre enrichment and he can be seen tossing it around, lifting it in his trunk and often flinging it out of the pool.
