At the Wildlife SOS rescue centres, hammocks are a very popular artefact amongst our bears.

They use it to relax, play with enrichments and even have their enclosure-mates over for group slumbers. Hammocks are a beloved form of enrichment for the bears as it ensures a break in monotony. The bear care staff and enrichment team works very hard to create a hammock from the scratch, and it is the most heartwarming sight to watch our bears take long naps on it. Many of our resident sloth bears even like to have their treatment conducted while they are on their hammocks.
