Description

More than 350 bird species have been identifed in Chicago, and many of them move through the area during the spring months. Join Stone parent Bob Dolgan for this guided tour of spring birding hotspots in and around Chicago. Bob is a past Board Member of Chicago Ornithological Society, writes a newsletter called This Week in Birding and has made a film about Chicago’s Piping Plovers, “Monty and Rose.” Sites may include Montrose Point, LaBagh Woods, and Wilmette’s Gillson Park. Or, maybe we’ll head south into the wilds of the Calumet region, along the Illinois-Indiana border. Target species are warblers, orioles, tanagers, vireos and many more.This trip is available to up to four people. All Covid 19 and social distancing guidelines will be adhered to, including masks for all participants. Beginners are welcome.
