Description

A treasure for every artist!

This book by Karen Katz shows the many colors of people's skin tones and colors through a story about a little girl discovering the world around her.  Ten block crayons in many skin tone colors allow the artist to represent many skin tones on the page.  The pouch is sewn by SunRidge's Ms. Prosser and the set is presented by SunRidge's FEAT: Freedom, Equity and Anti-Racism Team.

About the book, The Colors of Us by Karen Katz: Seven-year-old Lena is going to paint a picture of herself. She wants to use brown paint for her skin. But when she and her mother take a walk through the neighborhood, Lena learns that brown comes in many different shades.

About the block crayons: These high quality beeswax crayons are widely used in Waldorf schools worldwide. With their vivid colors and pleasant fragrance, these block crayones appeal to a child's senses. The quality of these crayons is outstanding (no crumbling, sticking, smudging, etc.), and they are completely non-toxic. They can easily be cleaned with a soft cloth and a bit of vegetable oil.
