What a collectors' item: Antique 1900s Chinese Mahjong set with matching wooden box. There is a complete set of 148 bone and bamboo tiles (144 for play and 4 spare blanks) neatly arranged in 4 wooden drawers that pull out with small brass pulls. Flower tiles are carved with auspicious Chinese plants and flowers and all tiles are in very good vintage condition. A 5th drawer contains many bone scoring sticks, four bone dice and bone wind discs. The original wooden box is stained dark brown with brass handles and brass accents on all the corners. There are Chinese characters painted on the back of the box but the sliding front cover is missing. Included are 4 wooden tile racks that are not original to the set and are redder in color (each measuring 16" long). Wooden carry case measures 9.25" x 6.5" x 6.75". An absolutely beautiful Chinese Mahjong set! Remember: this is a Chinese set... no jokers!
