Wednesday ran into trouble this summer when she badly injured her leg and needed an amputation. Her owner unfortunately had been out of work for months due to COVID-19 and was struggling with everyday expenses - an emergency on top of it all was just too much.

Wednesday's family reached out to MRFRS's Feline Assistance Resources & Support (FARS) program for veterinary assistance and MRFRS was able to cover half of the cost of Wednesday's surgery. Her owner sent us this update:

"I want to thank you ... I was given the option to surrender my sweet Wednesday if I could not pay. That broke my heart and hers too! Thank you for saving her! FARS grant is an extraordinary gift. Wednesday is doing great at home. Her surgery went well. She is purring and starting to walk around the house with a good appetite!"
