Description

Get in touch with your inner artist at this mixed media art workshop with local artist Bibby Gignilliat!  Mixed media art is the use of a variety of media in a work of art such as paint and collage. Taking a mixed media workshop is a great way to get started on your artistic journey!

In this mixed media class, you will receive mixed media materials to work and two 14"x14" cradled panels.  You'll learn how to create collage materials, layer materials, create rich texture with paint and collage, apply image transfers, and more.

Space is limited to 8 people and fills up quickly. Unlike other painting classes, all mixed media materials are included and the only thing you bring is you!

Bibby's studio is located in the Historic ICB building in Sausalito

About the Artist by the Artist

"As a recovering perfectionist, I choose to work in mixed media using collage and acrylic because it’s forgiving. I love bold colors, geometric shapes and text which come alive with whimsy on wood panels and paper. I am happiest when I am drawing outside the lines on the canvas and in life.

My work is inspired by my own personal growth and the realization that the only limits I face are self-imposed. Art allows me to let go of control and surrender to the painting in front of me. Each piece expresses a feeling I am experiencing, an aspect of growth I am facing, or a question I am contemplating as I create it.

My work was recently chosen for the DeYoung Museum Open at the DeYoung. It is available through my studio or SFMOMA Artists Gallery in Fort Mason, Sloan Miyasato at the SF Design Center located at 2 Henry Adams Street #300, through Slate Contemporary in Oakland."
