Description

Waterbirds on Tomales Bay. A delightful 15" x 20" watercolor on heavyweight Veritable Papier D'Arches Torchon paper.

The paintings of noted San Francisco artist Christine Miller High (1911-2010) explore scenes of 1940s San Francisco. Her work was acknowledged with the awarding of a one-woman show at the de Young Museum in 1941. The artist's rare vintage watercolors, courtesy of the High family, are being exhibited for the first time in decades. High's biography is included in Edan Hughes' book Artists in California, 1786-1940. She was a member of the Society of Western Artists.
