Description

Pam Perras and her husband, Vittorio Bucchieri, have fond memories of bringing their two young sons to Discovery Museum. Their son Stefan, who is now an employee of the Museum, recently gave them a tour of the Museum. They were so impressed! When Stefan told them about the Bid for Kids Auction, she hoped there was some way to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.

The painting, Hazy Day of Summer (Crane Estate), was started on a very hot summer day. She loved the scene, with the water wending its way through the marsh and the rhythm and repetition of the shapes of the hills and trees. After working on it for a few hours, the heat became too much for her. She painted the finishing touches in the coolness of her studio.

When Pam paints outdoors (en plein air), she enjoys being immersed in nature and staying focused on the moment. Although she works from life, her goal is always to create a painting that through its composition, color and paint handling, invites the viewer to experience all that excited her to paint the subject in the first place.

Pam Perras is an award-winning artist who lives north of Boston and paints in her home studio when she’s not painting outside. Her subjects include landscape, still life, and interior. You can see her work at Pam Perras Fine Art or @pamperras on Instagram. She is a juried member of North Shore Arts Association and Rockport Art Association & Museum. Pam’s paintings are on display at A Pleasant Shoppe in Portsmouth, NH.
