When I paint, I like to think of some of my favorite places. The Oregon coast is a spectacular landscape; truly an artist's dream. I decided to paint an Oregon landscape to represent Oregon in the Ashes to Art project. The ocean is a wild place, just like a wildfire. The colors of a beach sunset also remind me of fire. I included charcoal from the Cameron Peak fire into the sandy beach to help with texture. I hope this little oil painting inspires you to visit the wonderful Oregon coast.
