I chose to focus on the moose in this mixed media / acrylic piece to bring attention to the devastation these wildfires have on the habitat of the local wildlife. I started by creating an ash and acrylic medium that was used in the underpainting as well as mixed throughout all colors of the piece. I focused on traditional techniques mixed with abstract strokes to create a colorful piece built up from the ash underneath.
