My imagery is born from a lifetime in the American South. The work, through the processes of painting and drawing, asserts itself through the familiar and often dredges up fragments of memories both conscious and felt, flashes of things seen, ached for, recalled along the way. Painting is a journey, each beginning opens up improvisation, mystery, grace… I paint to discover what I will to see.
