I am often asked where my inspiration comes from. It comes from everything around me. Mountains, sky, conversations with friends, and music. I take all of it into the studio with me. I want my paintings to come alive with personal experiences and feelings. I want to make a one-of-a-kind painting that makes a connection with the viewer.

In this painting, I took my experience of driving through dense smoke from a fire in Arizona and the relief when we could finally see a Red Sun. We knew the smoke was clearing.
