Nature's patterns inspired this one. I took the Colorado ash and drew just a random path of curves and turns onto a sheet of watercolor paper already gessoed with lots of patterns and movement. I filled in colors I see as new growth and fresh waters, bringing in trees, leaves, a butterfly for metamorphosis, and a single fish as a great symbol. The Japanese culture teaches if you want to catch a fish, plant a tree. The nutrients the trees provide makes it happen.
