Having experienced first hand the Cameron Peak Fire and then The Troublesome Creek Fire and, subsequently, being evacuated for nearly a week, I was comforted and humbled by the extraordinary effort by these amazing firefighters. When I passed a group on the street and said thank you, they smiled and heartily replied, "Thank You." It is with honor that I created this simple piece and I have the notion that the myriad of feelings brought on by the smoke, the fire and the loss of property will linger in my subconsious to be explored in works in the furture.
