Schedule a solitary retreat for 2022 in a cliffside cabin overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence at Gampo Abbey in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. This practice opportunity is intended to support those wanting to deepen their study and practice of meditation.
Gampo Abbey is a Western Buddhist monastery in the Shambhala tradition. Founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1984, it is a lineage institution of Shambhala and a corporate division of the Vajradhatu Buddhist Church of Canada. Pema Chödrön is the monastery's principal teacher and Thrangu Rinpoche, its abbot.
As seen in the photo (above), Gampo Abbey is the site of an annual Lobster Release event, the release of caught lobsters back into the water.
