Village Zendo, New York: Participation in Zazenkai with Dharma Talk

Item Number: 337
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
The successful bidder for this item will take part in one of Village Zendo's monthly online zazenkai retreats, an accessible way to experience a short, intensive meditation retreat from your very own home.
Let the schedule support you and your intention. The purpose of zazenkai is to devote an extended period of time to meditation. Unless something compelling calls you away, we suggest that you devote the morning to your practice. If, however, you need to arrive late or leave early, we request that you do so during the five-minute stretch breaks between meditation periods.
Create an environment that supports your retreat. We suggest clearing a space where you can meditate and stretch between periods. You may wish to light a candle or offer incense as part of your practice.
The Village Zendo is a community of people who come together to practice in the Soto Zen tradition. It offers zazen (sitting meditation), one-on-one instruction with a teacher, dharma talks, chanting services, retreats, workshops and study groups.
Co-founded in 1986 by Roshi Pat Enkyo O'Hara and Roshi Barbara Joshin O'Hara, the Village Zendo is committed to authentically continuing the Zen tradition while keeping it contemporary and relevant to today's world. It is located in lower Manhattan, offering a place of healing and sanctuary in the midst of one of the world's busiest and most vital cities.
