Description

Wrap yourself in this silk scarf, "Gift from a Friend...Bodhi Tree Leaves" modeled on artist Peggy Turner Zablotny's 2013 print of the same name and on influences derived from and inspired by Martha's Vineyard and India.

Says Ms. Turner Zablotny, the scarf and its subject come from "A good artist friend who was traveling several years ago and visited the site of the well-known Bodhi Tree in India. He sketched the tree and put a couple of bodhi leaves in his sketchbook. About seven years later he was looking through his sketches and found the leaves and thought he should send them to me to possibly incorporate in my botanical collage compositions. Hence the title 'Gift From A Friend...Bodhi Tree Leaves.'"

Ms. Turner Zablotny is a designer, artist, and gardener who works with flowers and plant materials to create botanical compositions for fine art prints, cards, and scarves. Her scarves are printed to order and hand hemmed in California. The fabric is Silk Crepe Georgette, similar to crepe de chine, but thinner. It is a luxurious, semi-transparent fabric, heavier than silk chiffon, it drapes and falls beautifully and has a slightly textured matte surface. It is gorgeous in its fluidity and feel.
