Description

This handmade Ancient Peacock offering bowl from De Baun Fine Ceramics is finished in a teal crackle Raku. The Raku tong marks or crackling are typical of Raku firing.

The peacock is a symbol for turning the negative into the positive in the Tibetan tradition. This particular design is from a 2nd century B.C. sandstone medallion from Bharhut India that is housed in the Indian Museum in Calcutta.

De Baun Fine Ceramics: Raku pottery, shrines, incense burners, and more.
