The children's book Tiny Stitches: The Life of Medical Pioneer Vivien Thomas. Donated by Flying Pig Bookstore. Tiny Stitches tells the story of medical pioneer Vivien Thomas, an African American who overcame discrimination in the 1940s to develop a life-saving surgical procedure for babies with heart defects.
