Kristi is 16 year old Gabby's mom. Gabby was diagnosed with aggressive, metastatic osteosarcoma (bone cancer) at 13 years old. She endured 18 rounds of chemo, a major limb salvage surgery to save her leg and was in a wheelchair for over 15 months after surgery before learning to walk again. She is currently 32 months cancer free, recently had a limb revision surgery to lengthen her leg and continues to attend physical therapy. Now 16, in her Junior year of high school she is looking forward to applying to colleges in the fall and is hoping to attend NYU. She will not be considered “cancer free” or “in remission” until she hits 5 yrs. of clear scans. A little over 2 yrs. to go! 

Osteosarcoma is a highly aggressive form of bone cancer that often spreads to other parts of the body such as the lungs, other bones, the brain, or other organs.
