Lindsay is a mom of Hayden. My son Hayden, 15, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma on October 25, 2019.  He went through 6 rounds of chemo and 30 days of radiation and never complained once, except for when he lost his hair.  That was the toughest thing for a 13 year old boy. He was cancer free on March 31st and we were so excited to move forward with his life and starting High School.  But unfortunately, September 2020, we found out that his cancer was back and considered a “high risk relapse.”  Once again, he didn’t complain during his 22 days at CHLA while he had a bone marrow transplant.   Next week, we will meet with the radiology-oncology department to discuss the next radiation roadmap.   Once his radiation is done, he will have chemo treatment once a month for a year to hopefully ensure that this cancer will be gone once and for all. My son is the epitome of strength.  I am proud of him every single day. 

Hodgkins Lymphoma is a cancer in the immune system and as the cancer progresses it limits the body's ability to fight infection. Stage 4 indicates the cancer cells have moved beyond the lymph system into other tissues and organs, such as the liver, lungs or bones
