Description

Phlegm got you down?

"Galangal is generally hot with a small measure of cold; it is full of good qualities.
Someone with pain in their chest, spleen, or heart, or whose stomach has been cooled by phlegm, should take galangal...and oregano...and sage...and celery seed...and a little white pepper. Reduce this to a powder and add a little cooked honey to make an electuary—Eat this electuary often and drink good, pure wine."

Enjoy galangal lozenges (or candy, depending on your point-of-view), inspired by Hildegard von Bingen's recipe in her medical work Physica (13th-century). These lozenges, which are hand-made by Tracy Cowart, were well-received by over 400 participants in Verdant Medicine: Hildegard's Resonant Apothecary - an interdisciplinary event supported by the Johns Hopkins Program for Arts, Humanities, and Health.

BONUS: This item comes with digital access to Verdant Medicine and its accompanying packet of 5-senses "intersensory concert materials," which are currently sold out.

Organic Ingredients: Galangal, oregano, sage, celery, white pepper, honey, sugar, and cornstarch.
