Description

A lucky child or adult will get a ride in the Mishawaka D.A.R.E. police car and lunch with Lt. Tim. Date and time to be mutually agreed upon by calling 574-258-1678.

A team effort between Mishawaka High School Art Teacher Ryan Sergeant, the city's sign department and Graphix Unlimited all helped MHS alum Thi Do's dream become a reality.

The coolest car in town is the coolest car in the entire D.A.R.E. Program. The car was designed by high school students and decked out in colorful decorations.

Mishawka D.A.R.E. Supervisor, Lt. Tim Williams says the Mishawaka D.A.R.E. Car won first place at the D.A.R.E. Car Conference and Car Show. Officers use D.A.R.E. cars to visit schools and to educate the kids about resisting drugs, gangs and violence.

Williams says D.A.R.E. began as a partnership between schools, law enforcement and parents in the community, but the most important factor is the children. And those natural highs like sports and music will help them focus on accomplishing their goals and dreams.

The Mishawaka DARE car won first place at international conference in Texas in 2017.
