About the artist:

Giridhar is known for his miniature paintings and gesso-work drawings. These drawings are done with hairline brush strokes which requires painstaking concentration. Giridhar has a Post-Graduate degree in Fine Arts from M S University, Baroda and also has technical training in mural paintings, Jaipur frescos, Italian frescos and Tempera techniques from Banasthal Vidyapeeth, Tonk. Giridhar has exhibited his art in various exhibitions across the globe.

Inspired by his studies of Indian scriptures, he creates imagery dense in forms and ideas using earth pigments and gold on handmade paper the bestows a luster to his paintings. Fellowships and awards to his credit include those given by Kanoria Art Centre, Chitra Kala Parishad, and Nagarjuna University amongst others. He lives and works from his base at Garuvupalem in Gunter, Andhra Pradesh.
