FTCNS Class Art: Oaks - "Rainbow Blocks"

Item Number: 315
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
The block area has been such a busy place in the Oaks class! Each day you can find many children working hard with the blocks to represent their experiences and ideas. They work collaboratively, building off the ideas of others and learning important lessons about communication, compromise, and creativity.
To celebrate the Oaks love of blocks and how much they have learned through their play, we created a set of decoupage blocks! We took a set of 33 high-quality wood Community Playthings unit blocks and covered them with tissue paper and mod-podge to create a textured rainbow effect! And we made a special block featuring photos of the Oaks themselves. Finally, we realized that we wanted to have a practical and beautiful container for the blocks so we repurposed an old wooden drawer, painting it with oak leaves and acorns!
Set of 33 decoupaged wooden building blocks in hand-painted storage drawer.
Made by: The Oaks, teachers Salena Miller, Mary Tabatowski, Kirtsen Ruckdeschel, and parent Zoelle Nagib
