Description: The Armenian Alphabet is a system of 38 letter, 31 consonants and seven vowels it was invented in 405 and the oldest serving documents in Armenian date from the 9th & 10th century AD. Because of it’s uniqueness linguists classify Armenian as an independent branch of the Indo-European language family and it continues to be used today! This hand painted framed one-of-a-kind was created and donated by artist, Karine Abgaryan, www.abgaryan.store. Traditional Regal Armenian colors and gold paints are used bringing to life the 38 characters. A timeless piece which is perfect for a home or office setting.
Artist Bio:
Karine Abgaryan well known in the Boston area and beyond for her paintings, luxurious hand painted silk scarves, wearable art, ceramics. Originally from the town of Berd, Tavush region of Armenia, Abgaryan has been painting since childhood! Her imagination with her love of vibrant colors are reminiscent of her native country of Armenia. Generously donated by the artist, this Armenian Alphabet painting is an earlier piece from Abgaryan's collection, appropriate for celebrating our “Mother Language - Armenian" on Mother's Day!
