Description

A wine of great finesse and polish on the nose showing dark generous fruit with underlying spiciness.  Balanced on the palate offering dark cherry, plum, raspberry wrapped in soft structured tannins.  Very enjoyable now with some decanting but can be held for a few years to allow that finish to soften and the tertiary earthy elements to show through.

Producer Description
Château La Croix Saint André is located in Néac in a terroir similar to that of the Pomerol plateau. The very diverse soil, the age of the vines and, most importantly, the way the property is conducted makes Château La Croix Saint André one of the region’s most prominent wineries.

This vintage blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points
Balanced with fresh acidity as well as ripe black-currant flavors, this is a stylish wine with tannins for aging and concentration from the old vines in the blend. Perfumed Cabernet Franc shows through the rich Merlot to give a structured wine worth aging. Drink from 2023

James Suckling: 90 Points
There’s a very attractive, modern feel here with brightly spicy red plums and cedary, toasty oak. The tannins cut fresh and bright with a wealth of smoothly fleshy red fruit at the core. Very plush and approachable. Drink or hold.
