"Weavings can include threads that are irregular, some more beautiful than others. Woven together, imperfections and all, they make a harmonious whole. I love Carole King's "Tapestry." My life truly "has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue," full of family, friends, my roots in Carmel, my history."
SALLY RUSSELL considers herself a constructionist, playing and obsessed with the juxtaposition of color, texture, and shape. Her totemic sculptures can be found in homes and other settings across the country, including healthcare facilities and public art venues. She has also interpreted her bold style for a signature line of ceramic dinnerware and table linens, available at her new eco-venture, The Power Plant in Moss Landing. A fourth generation native of Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula, Russell has taught art to children at Stevenson School for the past 11 years, inspiring her students to explore "the endless possibilities."

Winning Bid pick up info: All pick up, delivery and shipping costs to final destination are the responsibility of the winning bidder and are not included in the auction price. Shipment of hearts: Leadership Carmel is willing to facilitate shipping of Heart, with the winning bidder assuming all responsibility and all costs for packing and shipping, being paid in advance. Agreement must be made with Leadership Carmel to handle shipping arrangements in advance of the 8/30/21 deadline for pick up. The heart with no base weighs 40 lbs., 10" thick (at widest point of heart) x 52"wide (at widest portion of heart) x 60" tall (Base to top of heart).
Base info: Each heart is built on an integral tube steel stand (2"dia x visible 6") and plate (1/4" thick x 12"x12"). For the art display in Carmel, the heart on stand is sitting inside of and anchored to a steel box (24"x24") with 8-Travertine bricks (6"x12"x2") covering the base plate. The steel box and travertine bricks are not included in the auction price. The steel base box, anchoring hardware and Travertine bricks may be purchased separately by arrangement with Leadership Carmel and would increase shipping weight by 165lbs. Please let leadership know if you wish to purchase base prior to picking up heart.
