Description
"I painted two local spots that I love: a magical house with a real thatched roof, across from the Carmel Mission, and the meadow of Mission Ranch. I included animals, birds, Winnie the Pooh and other beloved characters at child height so both adults and children enjoy the Heart experience."
EDI MATSUMOTO as born and raised in Japan, in a family that included several professional and amateur artists. Her great-grandfather, a traditional Japanese artist, painted with an ink brush.
Matsumoto moved to the U.S. in the mid-'90s and earned a Master's degree in nursing; she specializes in endocrinology as a nurse practitioner. In 2018, she earned her second Masters, from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. As her Japanese name indicates, she has integrated art and science into her life. Her upcoming solo show "Goddesses and Warriors," will open at Pacific Grove Art Center in November 2021.
