A private piano lesson with concert pianist and MCS parent Slavina Zhelezova.

Pianist Slavina Zhelezova has appeared as a recitalist, soloist with orchestra, and chamber musician at venues throughout the United States, Canada, Bulgaria, Belgium, France, China, Taiwan, and Mexico. Recent performance highlights include recitals at Cervantino International Festival (Mexico), The Harvard Cub of NYC, El Blanco y Negro Piano Festival (Mexico City), and Simon Bolivar Amphitheater (Mexico). Orchestra appearances include Shumen Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), ISMEV Orchestra (Mexico), Xalapa Symphony Orchestra (Mexico), and Puebla Symphony Orchestra (Mexico). As part of the Guevara and Zhelezova Piano Duo, Slavina has toured Mexico extensively. In October 2017, the duo released their critically acclaimed debut album, “Midnight Conversations,” on Centaur Records.

Slavina holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts and Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music. In addition to performing, Slavina is a passionate educator and sustains a private piano studio in Manhattan. She has led numerous outreach programs at schools in NYC, including Mott Hall II, Harlem Day Charter School, PS 98, PS 109, and Reformation Youth Arts Academy. Slavina is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Xalapa International Piano Festival and Academy in Mexico. Slavina currently serves as the Music Director of the First Congregational Church of River Edge. She has previously served as the Assistant Organist and Assistant Director of ChildrenÂÂÂÂÂÂ’s Music at the Reformed Church of Bronxville.
