Patti Pease Johnson finds inspiration from nature’s beauty and vivid colors.  She grew up in a family of 10 in rural Minnesota.  At age 12, her family moved to a suburb of Minneapolis and as a teenager, her mom took her to art classes.  The family enjoyed camping and her parents instilled in her the art of noticing nature’s greatness. 

These experiences strongly influence her art.  Patti moved to the Big Island in 1998 with her family of four and became enthralled with the vivid colors and large plant shapes of the rain forest. 

“My artistic mission is to light people up with the colors of life.”

Patti teaches art workshops at Volcano Art Center and has a line of home and fashion accessories featured in galleries and shops around the state and her original artworks such as this are in homes around the world.
