Mahinakealo Dermatology offers a full array of preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic dermatology services for patients.  Owned and operated by Marne CarMichael Walsh, MS, PA-C, the clinic offers lasers, botox, fillers and medical dermatology in Hilo.  Marne is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant with a specialty recognition in surgery.  She has over 15 years of dermatology experience and extensive advanced training in cosmetic injectables. 

Born and raised on Oahu, she secured a BS in Biology from UH-Manoa in 1990 and worked in cancer research, publishing multiple peer reviewed articles at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.  She moved to Chicago for graduate school and received her MS in Physician Assistant Studies from Chicago Medical School/Finch University of Health Sciences in 1999.  Over the course of her career, she has trained in dermatology, cosmetic surgery, pathology, phlebology, urology, internal medicine and cardiothoracic surgery.  Her postgraduate work has been featured in both Clinics of North America for plastic surgery as well as American Therapeutics. 

Marne moved to Boston and spent six years working as a PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Tuft’s-New England Medical Center, where she gained operating room and intensive care unit experience and trained resident doctors rotating through her department.  She transitioned from cardiothoracic surgery to dermatology while in Boston and has focused on dermatology since 2005. 

She returned to her roots in Hawaii so her children could share the same unique experience she had while growing up here.  She attends multiple medical educational conferences and trainings each year to provide the most up-to-date care for patients.
