"Always A Reckoning" by former US President Jimmy Carnter is perhaps more priceless today than when it was first published by Times Books, a divison of Random House and catalogued in the Library of Congress.  

In it, President Carter shares his private memories about his childhood, his family and political life, with illustrations by his granddaughter.  "Always a Reckoning" sets a precedent since no other president has published a book of poetry.

Dedicated to his father, mother, wife, family members and readers, who former President Carter says he hoped "will draw from them some pleasure, stimulating thoughts, or memories to make up for my lack of erudition, skill or artistry." 

President Carter has always been a humble man.

Jimmy Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for work to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.  Since leaving office, former President Carter has been prolific in writing and perhaps ever more prolific in helping build homes for the homeless...something he still does to this day at 96.
