Kit Driscoll Bio

Kit Driscoll is a long-time New York City based contemporary artist and new transplant to St. Petersburg, Florida. Acrylic, oil, and mixed media are utilized in his abstract works. Driscoll's large pieces incorporate multiple layers of varied colors, followed by light sanding to highlight hidden color and texture. His smaller works integrate bright colors and bold tones.

Driscoll's work is derived from everyday life: people, scenery, objects, and shapes. "Each painting starts with inspiration and has a direction, with its journey fluid and unpredictable. Stepping back and closing my eyes throughout the process, I let each piece dictate its own personality and end result.”

His recent work includes commissions for private collections in New York. "Lily and Mickey", acrylic on canvas, "Joy to the Unknown", acrylic on canvas, and "Chandelier Midnight", oil on paper. His works are available in limited numbers and time from select East Coast and Tampa home decor boutiques.
