The Captain Fletchers's Private Reserve Rye landed in the top ten of American produced Rye Whiskies according to the Ultimate Spirit Challenge. Crispin pays keen attention to fermentation using a Charentais Pot Still, the double distillation method, bringing the spirit to barreling strength with filtered rain water, and choosing fine barrels to match fine spirits. He carefully selects the distillate which becomes Mendocino Spirits.
