Description
FINE WINES - Handcrafted, Delicious and Authentic.
Nove Vineyards is located on a southwest-facing, sun flooded hillside not far from the Konocti Volcano in Lake County. It boasts desirable deep red volcanic and well-drained loamy Sobrante soils. At a lofty elevation of 1,400 feet, this prime mountain site possesses all the key ingredients for growing premium wine grapes with beautifully intense aromas and flavors. Having evolved geologically over thousands of years, our virgin soils possess a rich mineral complexity, which lends freshness and depth to our estate-grown wines.
Along with other unique site characteristics, this creates a distinctive terroir, a French term describing the interaction of soil, sun exposure, air flow, elevation and slope that constitutes a vineyard's singular character. The special terroir is expressed in the bright aromas, deep, rich flavors and pleasing texture that mark Nove fine wines, artfully crafted from two classic grape varieties: Grenache, originating in the famed Southern Rhône Valley region of France, and Malbec from the Cahors district of southwestern France. Both varieties are ideally suited to the growing conditions in the Lake County estate vineyard. The exceptional wines crafted from them - in very limited quantities - are made to be enjoyed with good food and friends and will age well for many years in your cellar.
The winning bidder receives a case of Nove Vineyards 2016 Malbec
Malbec, one of the classic varieties of southwestern France is Nove's boldest, fullest-bodied wine. Boasting a deep, saturated, ruby red color with purplish tints, the wine's aromas burst forth with gorgeous vanilla, blackberry and strawberry scents. Aged 24 months in a selection of oak barrels chosen to enhance the vineyard's unique fruit expression, the Malbec's lush, beautifully structured cassis and blackberry flavors - laced with complex notes of leather, tobacco, and oak - are framed by balanced tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish.
