Myrtle Creek Vineyards is a family-run boutique winery making quality, hand-crafted wines in small batches in Southern California. Most of the grapes are grown in the vineyard onsite, then picked by hand. The land has a long history of farming as citrus and avocado orchards. As water became too scarce and expensive to sustain those crops, wine grapes became the ideal solution. Audrey's husband and founder, Matt Sherman, had the passion for wine and a background in horticulture. His father, Bruce has always had farming in his blood. The first vines were planted by the two men in August 2011 on the grounds of the old family orchards, and the first wine was made in Matt's garage in 2011 with the help of an experienced neighbor and other friends in the industry. The vintage was coined Syrage...Syrah made in the garage. The doors opened in September 2017.
