ALEXANDER CALDER-1898-1976
Calder was an American sculptor known for his innovative mobiles (kinetic sculptures powered by mobiles or air currents). He also created paintings, lithographs, jewelry, and theatre sets.
He was from of family of Philadelphia artists. His grandfather created the sculpture of William Penn that sits on top of Philadelphia City Hall that was installed in 1894.
“Dancer ” Original color lithograph, Custom Framed 24 H x 19 W framed, is based on the Caldor sculpture "Spiny Top, Curly Botton" that is located at the Getty Museum in the Lower Terrace Garden.
