Conceived and choreographed by Emily Bunning, Under the Tangle is a dance-play that follows the journey of a suddenly orphaned girl who becomes ensnarled in a bewildering labyrinth. Primarily told through modern dance, theater, and vibrant visuals, Under the Tangle explores themes of loneliness, adventure, and self-discovery. The young girl twists along the maze meeting many unusual characters: a flock of black birds, daunting labyrinth guards, and eventually The Queen of the Lost who is perched on top of the labyrinth’s foreboding tower. The young girl is eventually set free by the gathering of clues and life lessons she discovers throughout her travels. Under the Tangle, for ages 8+ is an artistic adventure filled with obstacles, relationships, and discoveries.
