Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block is well-known as one of Broadway's most powerful voices. She has made a career of playing onstage legends, making her Broadway debut as Liza Minnelli in The Boy from Oz and winning a Tony Award for her portrayal of style and music icon Cher in The Cher Show. Block has also created notable and beloved fictional characters, reviving the title character in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and starring as the wickedest witch of the West, Elphaba, in early readings of Wicked, going on to star in the first national tour. She has starred in nine Broadway musicals and has been honored with three Tony Award nominations, taking home the top honor in 2019.
