Nish is disciple of Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan of the renowned Etawah/Imadkhani tradition, Nish imbues his playing with the emotion, improvisational prowess, and virtuosic technique that has been handed down in this tradition for over 200 years. Nish performs across a range of musical idioms, from traditional Indian classical music to collaborations with pop and jazz musicians and electronic DJs.

Beyond sitar, Nish has received formal training in Western classical piano, and plays guitar and bass in jazz and rock bands. Previous creative projects have included the electronic pop group Charcole Federation.
